Long-term partnerships with trusted suppliers

Our supplier relationships are built on quality, service and value for money, as well as a shared commitment to continual improvement. We have stringent requirements and high expectations for every supplier, which ensures maximum quality throughout the entire supply chain.

Requirements for all suppliers

All potential suppliers will be assessed as part of our initial supplier assurance activity. This involves the completion of a questionnaire. Once responses are gathered, certifications are identified and product complexity is assessed, we will advise if a further assurance activity is required, such as an on-site audit.

Once approved, all suppliers are continually monitored for quality, delivery and price performance, and if improvements are necessary, appropriate and timely action can be identified. We also conduct an annual risk assessment ahead of planning our supplier assurance activities for the year.

All suppliers are expected to comply with all the requirements documented in our terms and conditions.

Quality and environmental requirements

  • Immediately advise us of any issues which may affect product safety.
  • Not to deviate from the Purchase Order requirements without a formal Concession/Production Permit approval from Senior Bird Bellows.
  • Support our ISO14001 environmental approval by continually working in a manner that aims to protect and improve our environment.
  • Suppliers into our Aircraft Engine programmes shall comply with AS13100
  • Suppliers shall respond promptly and fully to any quality issues that are raised. We expect an initial response within 48hrs, and then timely follow-up to closure using an agreed 8D/RCCA approach.
  • Support all audit requests from Senior Bird Bellows, our customers and any certification bodies or regulators.
  • Regardless of approvals held, our suppliers are expected to have an awareness and take appropriate actions with regard to Product Safety, Counterfeit Parts Avoidance and Human Factors. Please feel free to use the materials below in support of raising awareness of these subjects:

Service specific expectations

Stockists

We expect all our stockists to maintain an appropriate accreditation for the goods being supplied. This may be a customer (second party) approval where appropriate. In most cases, this will be AS9100/20 or ISO9001.

Sub-contractors

We expect stockists to work with Senior Bird Bellows design data and any processes and release requirements that are defined in our Purchase Order. Our sub-contractors are required to hold and fully comply with our end customer approvals where appropriate, along with relevant third party approvals, for example AS9100, ISO9001 and NADCAP.

OEMs

We engage with a number of OEMs on the basis of their ability to demonstrate compliance with all our technical requirements.
